InQuik was pleased to participate in the Australian Bridge Conference 2017 on 3–6 April 2017 at the Pullman Albert Park, Victoria. With over 350 attendees, ABC 2017 had a great range of national and international delegates who came and spoke with the InQuik team on booth 25.

The InQuik modular concrete bridge has won an Award for Excellence in the Technology and Innovation category of the NSW Concrete Industry Awards, presented at the Kirribilli Club in Milson’s Pt, Sydney on 19 July 2017.

InQuik Bridging Systems was a major presence at the IPWEA NSW Conference 2017, hosting an indoor stand, an outdoor display, and giving a full presentation on the recent Reids Creek Bridge for Bellingen Shire Council. The event was held 8-10 November 2017 at the Crowne Plaza in the Hunter Valley, NSW, with over 375 attendees.

InQuik are pleased to announce that we have formally entered into a partnership with the Australian Reinforcing Company (ARC), for the manufacture and supply of bridge components. ARC have released an announcement article, reproduced below (with permission). Since this announcement, there have been a further 5 bridges that have been/are being manufactured for projects in NSW, for delivery Jan-April 2018.

We’ve listened closely to our customers, and to address the need for small bridges by farmers and primary producers, InQuik are proud to launch the InQuik Farm Bridge. Specifically designed for this market segment, the product is available in 6, 9 and 12m spans, is 3.2m wide, has a load rating of 68 tonnes (suitable for B-Double truck deliveries and collections), and has a 100-year design life!

In an integral concrete bridge structure, the deck is directly linked to the abutments through a reinforced concrete connection. This creates an exceptionally strong structure which is able to withstand significant forces from floodwaters, earthquakes and other natural events. Integral bridges also do not require bearings and tie-downs between the deck and abutments, removing this upfront cost (~$8-10,000) and eliminating the need for on-going inspection and maintenance of these parts.

InQuik have been announced as the winner of an international prize, securing the Association for Iron & Steel Technology’s (AIST) 2019 T.C. Graham Prize, which is awarded for new and innovative uses of steel.
Bruce Mullaney, Logan Mullaney, Ben Mullaney and Jim Howell have been developing the InQuik product for a number of years; refining the design, expanding and standardising the product range and this recognition is a testament to the product’s broad appeal and the efficacy of the “place and pour” construction process.
The team are proud of this significant achievement, and would like to acknowledge InQuik’s partners in Australia, SMEC and ARC, for enabling them to realize their vision.

InQuik and partner SMEC have been announced as winners of the Australian Engineering Excellence Award 2020 (Canberra Division) for their “InQuik Bridge System”. This award recognizes Australia’s top engineering projects and the teams making them possible.
Judges commended The InQuik Bridge System for its “efficiency and potential to benefit remote areas and countries with limited infrastructure and skilled labour”, describing the system as “a solution to bridge construction with innovation at its heart”.
The team were honoured to also be announced as a finalist for the Sir William Hudson Award, which is the highest accolade an engineering project can receive from Engineers Australia.

InQuik is pleased to announce that we are now an LGP Approved Contractor. Our range of products is available to procure under the “LGP 420 Minor and Major civil works including construction materials” panel contract that started 1st February 2021 and expires 31st January 2024.
An important component of being on this panel is that LGP is a ‘prescribed entity’ under s55 of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW) and the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005 (NSW). This means that councils do not need to go to tender for values greater than the tendering threshold (as they normally would be required to do) and may, instead, utilise supply arrangements coordinated by LGP.

The team at InQuik are pleased to announce that the InQuik bridging system is approved for use on projects delivered by the Queensland Government’s Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) as of 30th April 2021.

Through the Australian Government’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme, InQuik connected with their local Innovation Connections Facilitator, Dave Fleming, from CSIRO SME Connect. Dave assessed the business’ needs and recommended an Innovation Connections Researcher Placement Grant. This grant supported a collaboration project with The University of Sydney, undertaking independent, professional engineering modelling of the long-term effects of having permanent formwork, and load-bearing behaviour of the unique design.
